Transmission Filter Intervals?

The kind that you'd use instead of sealant? How much did they want for it?

$2.99. If I didn't have a half a tube of FIPG going bad at the house, I'd given it a shot.

There are no gaskets with the screen on the 343.

The only gasket is the cork one that many places have in place of the FIPG.

I used only the FIPG when re-installing my tranny pan and after 45K no leaks at all.

Lucky for me I decided to read this thread. I've been functioning the last 4-5 years or so with the idea that I couldn't drop my tranny pan without busting my filter, and as I don't have source for a replacement, I've been flushing it out with a machine that pumps fluid in as it sucks it out. Uses twice the normal amount that way.

As soon as I'm able, I'm going to drop my pan and see what I see inside.

Drop the pan, clean it out, clean out the filter and replace with FIPG and refill--you're all set.

Well worth the time and effort.

IIRC, you had either a stripped tranny plug or the captured nut was spinning. Which was it, and what'd you end up doing for it?

whats the torque specs on those bolts? i think thats the only thing missing in this thread
