I'm thinking in this for my ARB freezer .. but came with several options ( canvas vs neoprene ) not sure if canvas advantage worth the extra $$$ ..

My intended use it's just protection .. when I use my ARB on Tencha it has to fight with plenty of stuff laying around on the back .. everything it's secure but still can rub and scratch the freezer which it's my idea to prevent.

ARB-10900013 and ARB-TBAG47ARB seems to be canvas options .. and ARB-TBAG47ARBN neoprene option .. someone have an opinion / experience to share about ..

thanks !

David

The "transit" bag that I got with my Waeco has insulating properties too. You can tell by the temp of the lining material. But mostly it keeps the fridge from getting dirty.

Both look like they fit snugly over the cabinet. I'd think canvas would hold up better to surface abrasions and things that might snag it, than neoprene.

I made an outer box of aluminium for my Engel many years ago. Cut slots etc for the radiator area and latch access etc. If you have access to a bender and a guillotine and some pop rivets it is easy to do. Or some 3/8" plywood. You can oversize it a little and push foam between to prevent rubbing etc and provide more insulation. Just make sure the foam is non-squeaky...

I would think neoprene is somewhat easy to tear/rip/puncture.

cheers,
george.

I have the canvas one. It's definitely tougher than neoprene, but to be honest I wouldn't pile stuff on or against the fridge anyways. That's one of the reasons I built my cargo system the way I did. I'd go for the canvas, if I were you. The fit is good and it looks good as well.
