I was getting ready to ask you about the tall-skinnies... but then I noticed you swapped the rear doors!!!

So, how do you like the tall-skinny tires as I too am looking to go this route?

Rear doors - WAY COOL!!!

Very nice... I'd love to hear how you like the tires, as I'm going to need a new set soon. Really dig the tall skinny's!

he didn't swap the rear doors...

That came out exceptionally good.

I travel from El Paso to San Antonio once or twice a year. How much longer does it take going through Sanderson and Del Rio to SA instead of staying on I10?

-B-

Well, I'm guessing it might add about an hour or so...? It's a LOT more enjoyable drive, though!

It's about 60 miles from Fort Stockton to Sanderson, then about 110 miles more to Del Rio. The only part that will slow you down much is the last leg from Del Rio to SA - several small towns with 35mph speed limits and stoplights on US Hwy 90.

Not sure if its an issue to display what you paid from CDan....

...Besides, showing what costs are will help sell more parts and will reduce stupid phone calls to CDan I'm sure :P

You're probably right. In the interest of making CDan's life a little easier, they were about $124 each, plus shipping.

Love the color. Did you paint match your line-x over your flares?

Sid

It's not Line-X. I'm cheap and when I found out how much Line-X was going to cost, I ended up masking off the lower part of the body and spraying it with 3M Rocker Panel Spray prior to having it painted at the body shop. The stuff seems pretty tough, but only time will tell how it holds up. I figured if it went to hell I could always Line-X it later.

Rear doors? I'm assuming you're talking about the "ambulance doors" in the first pic I posted? I posted that just to show what made me decide on that color... that "look". I didn't do diddly with my rear doors other than paint 'em and stick a 'mud sticker on the rear window.

I like those rims, but, the purple window tint on a tan truck..... time to get the razor scraper out!

It doesn't look purplish like that in person, but yeah the window tint film is in pretty bad shape in places. Kinda has air bubbles between it and the glass in a few spots.... oh well, that'll give me something productive to work on NEXT summer.

what are the specs on the rims ? (sizes)

They are OEM 70 Series 16x6 wheels. Part No: 42601-60262-03.

I was a little worried that they would be too narrow for 255's, but I think they may actually be 16x6.5, and I think the backspacing is 3.25"(?). They seem PERFECT for 235/85 or 255/85. I would NOT try to run 265/75 on them, though I have seen photos of a guy in Oz doing that.

Do they offer that wheel in 15" size and backspacing that would fit a 60 with 32x11.5

Hell yeah! That color is the sweetest thing I've ever seen around here for a while.
Now head to Africa and blend in the landscape :D

RE first pic: thinking about a westfalia-like rooftent?

Diggin it! I like it a lot, nice work dude

Anyone know what size those tires are on the sahara pop-top cruiser? I also like the shortened exhaust on that one.

I LOVE that color and I the windows look real good with it IMO. "$600" paintjob?

Yeah. Spent $350 at the body shop for the paint job after spending roughly $200-$250 on sandpaper, rocker panel spray etc. I was going to roll on some paint myself, but after all the time I spent doing the prep I figured $350 was CHEAP for paint and probably saved me another 15-20 hours of work.

one of the nicest looking cruisers on this board< well done.

only $350 at the body shop? way cheap!

Yeah, but ALL they did was buy the paint ($100-$150 I think), mask off the windows etc and spray the outside. I did ALL the prep, and all the final wet sanding and buffing.

Saw the title, "Transformation Complete" and figured I had to look.... I've never seen one complete... Mine sure isn't.. I just keep changing things/adding things... transforming.

Well.... not exactly "complete" I guess. I have plans in the future for ARB front and maybe a rear bumper with tire carrier and jerrycan holder, but other than that I like her just the way she is!
