Hi everyone typical rundown 86 4runner. Use to be auto now a 5 speed dont no year of trans.22 re motor. Started geting a vibration this week discoverd if im on the gas no vibrate off the gas vibrate and a howl . Crawled under looked around ujoints still look good bout 1/8th inch play i guess in. The rear of transfercase. If i grab the flange i can wiggle it up and down exc. If its not the nut being lose. Wich i doubt it is. How to do inchange that rear bearing? Remove drive shaft . Use 30mm socket on flange nut. Remove flange pop out the seal. Is there a snapring in there to remove abd just slide old bearing out? Or do i have to split the back half the case and pull it out? Got a friend help me tomorow. He busy on sunday so i gota try and figure this out tonight if posible. Thanks for any help guys and gals.

Probably only have to remove the extension housing, which is only held on by 7 bolts.

There are complete teardown and rebuild instructions on Marlin's website.
