Transfer knob

Will the transfer knob from an 80+ fj 40 fit on the levler of a 76 fj 40?

I bought a replacement 76 knob, but the cap with the shift pattern keeps popping off.

Wanted to try a different kind.

Why not get the correct one for your year and OEM part: 36303-60020. Appears to be available still.

8/80 the thread changed and is larger. Will not fit. The one in the auction is for a 60 series not the one used on the 40 series.
