Is it chain driven or belt driven?

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

you must mean gear or chain driven...

but thats not the right question to ask, still.

is it an auto or manual trans?

manual uses gear oil, auto uses atf

even if its a manual trans?!

Ah hell.... Now I'm confused.... :D Actually I had forgot that the V6 came with a manual trans...(Cause I've never had one....) hehe

The V6 manual trans T-case gets gear oil, the auto t-case gets Dexron II....

The 4 cylinder manual trans t-case gets gear oil, and the auto gets.... Anyone?

All v6 trucks have a chain driven t-case wether it auto or manual trans.Oil wise I think it takes gear oil with either trans.

I was confused by this too. Lots of Chiltons/Haynes manuals say to use ATF in everything so my MT equipped truck mistakenly got ATF for 8 months . When I got an FSM I switched back to gear oil. No metal bits or catastrophic failure, just confusion. :D

The 4 cylinder manual trans T-case gets gear oil.

That is straight out of my 89 FSM

Anyone have access to a fsm with the 4 cylinder auto trans T-case info? The 85 FSM I have downloaded doesn't seem to show it....

All V6 and AT 4cyl's are chain!

All 4cyl 5spds are gear.

(not speaking yet for that rare G52?? everybody been talking about recently)

I'd go to the dealer and act like your gonna buy oil for it, let them look it up.

The a340H automatic transmission shares its fluid with the transfer case so it would have to be ATF. I believe this is the only automatic Toyota used in their trucks and 4runners from 8? to 94/95. (The t100 used the A340F) The manual trannies behind a 4cyl use 75/90. I'm not sure about the v6 manual but I think it takes 75/90 too.

and drum role please!,

for the code I found on my newly acquired Hilux.....:frown:

:flipoff2: IDC

And once again, all AT's and all V6's are chain, the rest are gear.

What do you mean "Rare G52"? They were behind most 22R's for many years...

I'm only going with what I heard,,,,and I might have the code wrong

but it seems I herd someone say there is a rare one out there, IDK?
