looking to put a h55f in a 40. are there any other options than to use the toyota split transfer case. if not does anyone know the toyota pn for the transfer case i need for the 33030-60450 transmission

The only one available new through the US dealer is 36100-6A750. But be sure you are sitting down when you ask for the price, $2.5K+.

Buy used. To be sure look for one off an 85+ FJ60 here in the States. Some other countries started getting the 5 speed in 1983.

yea ive been looking at used also, so any 85+ fj60? some of the listings ive seen for post 85 listed that they had 4-spd's in them or is it the junk man is just confused

Yes, it's best if you can get an October '85 to August '87 (or whenever they switched to FJ62) to get the large idler shaft and to avoid the vacuum 4WD shift. But really any split transfer will work if it has a relief in the front plate to receive the oiler cup (see pic)
