Hello fellas' I have a couple of spare trannys and t/c 's both mated together. Problem is I am not sure what they are ? I thought they were r141 trans but not sure of the t/c's ? , Wikipedia says that a r141 doesn't exist ? All I know is they are both Toyota and are 4 speeds. They came as extra's when I picked up my pzj. Anyone have instructions as to id them properly or some helpful links ? Thanx Neil

wikipedia is wrong.

ENS delivered PZJ's in the early 1990's with 4sp R series transmissions. I never saw the new ones, but saw plenty of mine surplus units bolted to 38mm cruiser transfer cases. Most were locked out of 4th. Marlin would also be an excellent source for id. R series are found in 4runners, supras, and other toyota trucks. Photos would only help your cause.

41/42/55 are cast iron case transmissions
R series aluminum transmissions have the shifter toward the rear of the steel intermediate plate.
H series aluminum transmissions have the shifter FORWARD of the steel intermediate plate.

see "i don't know what I am doing thread" for a photo of h151 and r151, i have both.

thanx very much rick d I will have a kook at the mentioned thread and maybe post some pics. Neil
