Tranny / T case breather? (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone.

I have an 05 and started tackling my diff breather extensions. Is this the tranny and t case breather? Looks like they both are tied into one unit. Is this correct?

Yup. I pulled the caps off the ends of the metal and attached my extension lines to the metal unit.

What are you guys using to cap off the breather? Just an inline fuel filter or something more specialized?

I used the ARB kit, but it's not uncommon for people to use small filters.

Interesting, any chance you have part #? I wonder if it's the same breather caps on the diffs.

The metal cap types are one way valves. They don't prevent a vacuum from forming and drawing water past the axle seals. I prefer the fuel filters.

^ and the OEM cap type with one way valve often corrode freezing the cap in place; maybe open maybe closed. I like the small clear visufilter powersports filters with brass internal filter- something like $2 or $3
