Does anyone know where to get rebuild kits for my h55 and t-case. I am getting more and more gear/bearing whine and want to rebuild.

Also if anyone has any insight into the whole process any info would be great.

Yes I know to get a FSM.

Where are you located?

Do you have access to a good workshop (for speciallist tools, etc)?

located in vancouver BC and I have a whole mechanics shop at my disposal.

Anyone?

is it possible to buy bearings there off part numbers like this?

Thanks for the list BBD. I am hoping that it will be just bearings but I am not sure till it comes out. Are all the gear parts readily availiable from toyota or do they have to be ordered. Also I see you listed syncro parts how often have you or anyone replaced these? i am trying to see what people have had to do when doing a rebuild. I.E. everyone ends up replacing gears or the opposite.

Hokey dokey chief, as far as I know any of the couple builds I have done none of the synchros need doing.... althought I have set of factory units sitting here.

First rebuild is a bit tough if never tackled, nothing to loose sleep over but a few pointers sure would help.

Tools are essential, specially the right ones to make it easy.

If you do not have these tools either see Rob Milson in VAncouver who has done many trans and tee cases or me who prolly has not time to do one at his point.

My idea on that was, the syncro rings had many years wear against worn gears. Then replace most the gears and the syncro rings then do not match the gears do they. Also the syncro's are cheap compared to the cogs and shafts. My box had no noises of any kind previous to rebuild.
