I'm itching to take my maiden off road voyage with my 80, but don't have time in the near future to make a 2+ hour trek to some of the well known trails. Does anyone know of ANYTHING, even a little SOMETHING, near the Kansas City area? I live in the northern part of KC, but am OK with driving a bit... just not a lot.

Thanks for any help,
Matt

Closest public places are Tuttle Creek ORV north of Manhattan, KS, little over 2 hours, and Kansas Rocks (pay park) outside of Ft. Scott, KS, about 1.75 hours from Kansas City. Never been to Kansas Rocks, but Manhattan has a ton of trails and is free.

Doesn't help much since you're only wanting to drive about an hour though.

Been over 3 years since I was at K-rocks, but at that time the trails at K-rocks weren't wagon-friendly.

Perry Lake has ATV and motorcycle trails, but I don't think any specifically for 4x4, although I have nearly got stuck on my DR650 on 4-wheel-sized trails, before :)

I remember wheeling with my dad in his series Land Rovers in Weston, MO, back in the day. Perhaps it wasn't legal... Pesky law...

No-go for the perry trails. They are only for smaller vehicles/motorcycles.

At the time it may have been legal. There used to be a place up in Tiffany Springs too but it's off limits now. I can't even remember exactly where it's at.

I heard about that Tiffany Springs spot. I wish something else would come up in or near KC.
