What trail tools and spare parts are recommended for a 2 week overland. Trail ratings easy and the easy side of moderate. Mostly FS and BLM dirt road.

I am a newbie and just getting started with overlanding.

Sean, I hate to say it but.. search the forum. There's a lot of good, full posts about exactly this. For example: https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/603191-what-do-you-keep-your-rear-storage-unit.html

You'll see a lot of people carry (in my opinion) way too much stuff, but a lot of good basics are covered as well. Tools, spare clothes, food for the family... etc. It really depends on where you're going, what time of year, how far from a larger community you'd be, etc.

Also check under your local area forum, for example in mine (Vancouver Island Cruisers) we have a sticky'd thread about this topic. Sometimes that's more helpful because the people discussing are from your area and know the terrain. https://forum.ih8mud.com/ca-bc-vancouver-island-cruisers/226311-trail-essentials.html

Some things I keep is hose clamps, misc sized and lengths hoses , basic hand tools, specialty tools like a54mm socket. Some motor oil, ATF are always in my engine compartment in front of my battery. Gallon or so of 50/50 antifreeze. Pipe wrench, some sort of breaker bar, extra belt(s). I'll add more when I'm off break

Food and water, and warm clothing, are some of the most overlooked and most IMPORTANT items to bring. I carry enough dried/canned/packaged food a in the truck all the time to feed my whole family for about a week. That and 4 liters of drinking water. Overdoing it? Maybe. But better safe than sorry, and better too much than not enough. Tucked away in the front of my storage drawer I don't even have to think about it.

Oh, and beer... in my OEM center console refrigerator :flipoff2:
