I wondered that as well. Would be epic!
Exactly. My LX470 remotes work fine, but if this was a plug n' play remote start option, i'd order one immediately

I have done prototyping on remote start versions previously for the 80 Series however opted against it. Main reasons:
- More labour time to make = increased cost to produce = higher price of kit
- On newer Toyota's like the 100 Series, the factory transponder immobiliser system will need to be removed, tricked or bypassed to do remote start which again adds complexity to the install.
- Extra wiring and related systems= more potential things to go wrong especially when involving the ignition and transponder system
- It's more on the end of a fun novelty vs. having an actual quality of ownership improvement.

got the one I ordered, nice kit. took 10 mins to installed. I had to vacuum so that is why it took me an extra 5 mins.
unfortunately it does not lock/unlock the door locks. I can hear the Trail Teq box click/click so it's getting power and reacts to the supplied remotes.
how to troubleshoot it?
I have an early model JDM RHD. my RHD driver central lock works and the key can lock or unlock all doors. my truck did not come with a factory remote. I was really hoping this would work. sigh.

Unusual! Given the module is working it sounds like some sort of issue with the lock/unlock signals getting to the Body ECU. I will send you a PM and we can troubleshoot.
Understand it's a lot more work, but I will say for those of us in N. America's cold climates, its more of a REALLY nice to have versus a fun novelty.
When its -30*C out, its nice to walk out to a warm & defrosted truck
When it's minus 30 C, you don't want to start the engine, if you want to keep it for a few years. You want a webasto or similar to heat up your engine, defrost your windshield and heat up the interior. That investment will pay you back in saved time, saved fuel and less engine wear, over a period of about 10 years.
