that's probably true, but this event is going to be trail cutting and wheeling, i have to be in the woods showing where to cut the trails, and i wouldnt really want 5 guys in the shop taking on a project like that without me there, i can be kinda picky about my tools(ask jeff;p), we could however, schedule a tech/shop day here some other time devoted only to projects similar to your knuckle job, i'll have some extra space in the shop in 2-3 weeks when my bro's buggy is leaving;)

How about a rear axle rebuild? Just the opposite end of the truck! I need to do my Passenger-side rear some time this year. And rear brakes. The Driver side was rebuilt last year so should be good.

I could also get in on some front end rebuild action.... I should probably tackle the rear sometime too.

It would be good to get this 2nd day on the schedule soon, so we could all do some planning. I vote for a day a few weeks after the trail cutting event.

a rear rebuild should be fairly easy, i havent had an 80 rear apart yet, is there a special tool/socket for the wheel bearing lock nuts on the ff axles?

I plan to research all that hooey and get the answers. I know there's a writeup in the 80-series section FAQ on rear axle rebuilds. I have the big Toyota socket for the front hub, for what it's worth.

I'd love to get up to see John's shop and run some trails. The earlier in March the better- I have a big maintenance job starting the Saturday before Easter (eight days before Easter) and will be tied up. The second Saturday of March works best for me. My two cents..............Gary S

I just found out that the first AND second weekend are both out for me. The other weekends are still open. Obviously, we need some others to chime to see the best date for all.

I think i can do whenever...i made sure that my work knew my off roading stuff came first haha

i'd kinda like to wait until the 22nd to do this, by that weekend my brother's buggy will be back from school, and should be done, it'll definitely be a fun test run for it:D...we'll wait and see what date works for everyone though, because we can play in the buggy anytime once its done;p

John- pick a date that's best for you and if I can make it I will. Don't make a decision just because of my schedule, I'll get up there one of these days..............Gary

Newbie from York, PA with a 94 TLC...I'd be happy to join in for a little work. I gotta an old chain saw and a strong back! Don't care much for beer but can bring my own whiskey ;). I'm scheduled to work March 22 so I'll need to put in for some time off. Is this date confirmed? Are newbies invited?

Another newbe with a stong back from the south (Maryland) looking for LC group to hook up with to break in my new 97cruiser. We camp in Holtwood PA off and on all summer long so I would be close by for most events. We want to move to Pa the traffic is a nghtmare where we live. Might be able to get my son to bring his 96 as well. Maybe I should ask if you let non PA cruisers into your club?
