both sides skipped, but only one had the misfire! belt done and now she's fine.

I would assume everything else is in order? i.e. tensioner, idler pullys, etc...

tensioner probably. no idea, My uncle had it before my father and I just started maintaining it.What do you suppose caused the belt to jump? How many miles did it have on it?
Have you inspected your coils and plugs?I’m having a similar issue on my 5VZ (mods delete of not allowed). The misfire is randomised, then also on cylinders 2, 4, and 6. My mechanic said it was a timing issue, but I’m confused why the misfire would be on only one side oof the whole timing belt skipped? Any more idea on what could cause this?
Yea they all looked ok as far as I could tell. I also installed new NGK wires which made no difference. It seemed highly unlikely all three plugs or coils would all fail at the same time in any case.Have you inspected your coils and plugs?
