hello everyone, I bought a toyota hilux with v6 engine I think the engine is a 3vze want to ask someone to help me, the engine has problems, I know that took head gaskets and water pump,
the question is what is best engine to put there? 4cl? 22RE? can I mount a carburetor? and change the engine to make it more simple?

my idea is to put a diesel engine ... but now wanted to get that or buy a simpler engine 4 cylinder, without making alterations thanks for the help ... a hug from PORTUGAL
 
In Portugal I would recommend that you look into a diesel swap. They should be relatively easy to find and since you are anywhere but the US market, finding the engine, harness, bell housing, and all the other associated things to make the motor drop in should be much easier.

If diesels weren't scorned by the US government then that would be on the top of lots of peoples lists.
 
Thanks, diesel is easy to buy, we have several options, I wonder what was the option without diesel? the hilux has several engines 4 cylinder petrol, which is the gasoline engine's generation hilux serving in my box? thank you
 
hello, sorry for bad english peopl ... I would ask if the gasoline engine 22R can be mounted on the gearbox of original case of the 3vze ? I need to change the part that connects the boxes? are different? My v6 is tired, and I got a 22r. thanks for the help
 
It'll be a lil work but not too bad, I'd swap in a 2rz or 3rz. The motor mounts are the same but the bell housing is different. Depending the trans you might be able to swap it out though. The 22re is a good swap and most people like it over the 3vzfe. Being that you not in the states I'd def look into a diesel swap.
 
thanks for the replies, I decided to eliminate the injector sistem..
I live on an island in the ocean atlantic, and here is tricky to get the shot, because we can not see the faults, some advice carburetor? as you know this engine has almost 3000 cc or 183 ci .... only found on the island a 22r but not want to sell ... and I liked to give one more chance to 3vze in all forums read bad thinks about 3vze is not good motor, I want to see why ... I'll share with you assembling a photo or 2 carbs ... any advice is welcome and appreciated ...
