July 27th-29th 2007 at Rausch Creek Off Road Park.

There's trails for every skill level, from mild to wild. First timers welcome!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few things for those of you who have never been to Rausch,

First, please go here and read over their rules, rig requirements and such:

wwww.rauschcreekoffroadpark.com

Please make sure your rig is prepared for the park, please don't show up in some jalopy that holds up the rest of the group while you nurse your broken junk down the trail 100 feet at a time.. ;)

It's a good idea to have a CB so you can communicate with the rest of the people in your group. A decent steup can be had for under 100 bucks from any truck-stop.

A fire extinguisher is a requirement, if you plan to run, then bring one along, or you will find yourself sitting in camp. Imagine being deep inside the park when your truck catches fire, and all you can do is step back and watch it burn...go buy a 10 dollar fire extinguisher from wal-mart, or home depot.

For some reason it likes to rain on our little shin-dig every year, so don't forget rain-gear, boots, and lotsa spare clothes.

Bring food for camp of course, but also bring food to eat on the trail, each day around noon, we'll stop somewhere within the park for lunch. Sandwiches, hoagies, that type of thing.

Meeting time/place:

We'll meet each morning at the Rausch Creek parking lot @8:00-8:30 am. When you get there, go inside the trailer and fill out your waiver, and pay for however many days you wish to wheel. Passengers must also fill out waivers and such. Get your wristbands, your flags, and head back out to your rig to air down your tires, mount your flags, shoot the **** with everyone, fill out our club waivers, and wait for any late-comers.

Then we'll all enter the park, and take the short ride down to the staging area. Here, we'll split up into groups based on difficulty, pick CB channels, and have a quick pep-talk/ Q&A session. If all goes well, we should be on the trail by 9:30.

After that, each group goes their own way, since we will all be heading out at different times depending on location in the park and the group we are with, we will meet up back at camp. Please pay attention to other members in your group and make sure they get out alive, haha.

Then it's time for some beer, burgers, story-tellin', and story makin'!

Camping is at Echo Valley CampGround: Welcome to Echo Valley Campground

When you sign in, just tell them you are with "The Toyota Group", they will know who we are. We have our own pavilion, parking area, and camping area. The group rate they gave us is $14/person per night.

I'll be there with my other club, Northeast Toyota Crawlers

anyone else wanna go? perhaps if you had to miss CMCC like I did

Echo Valley are rip off artist. Please do not camp there. The place is a crap hole! They treated me and several other members at CMCC very poorly. You have been warned.

+1 from me. I watched and heard that woman talking to our officers about why she should be charging more money for the kids that were there because they were using the "amenities".

Next time, if nothing else comes up I'll camp at Rausch Creek. At least the scenery will be nicer and the "amenities" couldn't be any worse.

Yeah and you will be rid of that evil lady and her henchman.

Unfortunately, this was all arranged by one of the PA guys and we hadn't heard these bad reviews in advance. :frown: I am very unhappy with the price. They required a $100 deposit for the pavilion and camping area and said she would get back to us with a group price. Usually, "group discount" doesn't mean you pay MORE than usual per person, so we didn't see that coming at all when she finally got back to us.:mad::mad: However, as there are people from multiple states attending, it is too late to change now. :whoops: :frown: Needless to say, we will not be going there again based on price alone, if she treats everyone as badly as you guys are saying, that will just be one more reason to post up on all the boards and let people know not to go there. I suppose we will just have to cheat her out of as much money as we possibly can while there.

Regardless of the crappy accommodations, this is the 5th year we have done this and it is always a blast. I hope to see some of you guys down there!

Wow the price of tent camping went from 10/night to 14/night in less than two weeks.......

The $10/night/person price was negotiated for GCLC by Mike Stevens when we first made arrangements to hold CMCC at EV. It was a discounted price for the event. We also had a $100 deposit. I don't know what the standard rate was, but I'm sure Mike does.

EV was not a good experience for some folks and yet some others survived unscathed. While it certainly is not ideal on many levels, the convienence factor is very high. It was great to hop in and drive for 5 minutes and be wheeling.

Personaly I hope that EV gets their act together and does some renovations to both their facilities and attitude.

I'm out of town and missed CMCC and now this. Rats.

I like Brian's idea of renting a farmer's field and doing our own thing. When our group does a Rausch run, we bring our own water and hot showers. A bit more primitive, but it works. and no Boss Lady/Henchman to deal with. and you're already in the park.
