install prob's

I installed the v.95 from Yankee.com, It worked one day and now it says “Execute the set up” so I reinstalled A1 & A2 from CD.
Then a full reinstall, same thing.

Any ideas?

Could someone with a working version of the 95EPC email these files
to my spam email account i555007@yahoo.com and name it EPC

Files are: GCDROM.SYS
and all contents of: TMCTMPW1

this folder TMCTMPW1 is usually empty just a temp folder , did you run some kind of cleanup utility on your computer .cause that will sometimes break the epc program . and you might check your add remove programs to see how many times the epc is installed .and remove them all .and start fresh .i have had this problem before ,just uninstalled everything and started over .

TMCTMPW1 is only empty upon install after setup it has files in it.

I finally got it to work, I reinstalled for the 10th time then opened up TMCEPCW1 right click on GCDROM.EXE, properties, compatibility tab, change compatibility mode to win95, apply, start program, install CD’s to C:,
exit program, change compatibility mode back to winXP, start program, install CD’s to D:

I have no clue why this works but after three days of screwing with the EPC it’s the only way I’ve found that it does.

P.S. here is a link to the A440F.pdf service manual http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/3FE/files/Lessons learned and fix tips/Transmission/

Jake,
I got the US data to work. Seems OK to me. I've been using it the past week to get numbers for my 99 Tacoma. I had the dealer look up about 20 numbers, and they were all still good numbers.

The info for all the US model 4x4's seems to be covered. (*J40's & 55's only back to '69, though).

I also managed to combine a bunch of the data files from the 00-03 EU/Jap EPC covering models that were that I guess were dropped from the full 04 version. Everything seems to be working fine.

I still havent burned the discs though. I guess my burner is too old to handle any blanks over 4X.. :(
Looking for a cheap DVD burner so I can get them burned...LOL

Man, it was so quick and easy walking in and having him just look up the numbers I had. :)
Too bad he only had 2 in stock, and the prices were high on everything...LOL

Please seed!:)

I just came across with this thread recently & I wanted to have a copy of the EPC. I need seed!!!!

Hey Jake,

I know I posted before that the US CD's were working for me, but I recently found out that some vehicle models DO NOT work.

Unfortunately, one of them is the 84-89 Pickup/4Runner. :O

I finally figured out that when you do a model search, the second row in (labeled "catalog"), seems to be a specific number assigned to each model. Makes sense I guess... :)

Well, when I go through the TMCMSTW2, U1 and U2 folder, there are catalog numbers missing. These are the .MST files, which coincide with each models' "catalog" number.

Then, I checked the .iso CD images, and they are missing there also.

Can you post up the unpacked size of both the A & A2 CDs?

This will probably bug me so much, I will crosscheck the complete model/catalog list shown in the EPC program itself, vs the U1 & U2 folders, just to get a list of all the missing .MSTs.

Thanx!

Well, it looks like I have 12 catalog numbers/.MST files missing from just the A2 disk.

I'll edit and post up a list of exactly which ones in a bit.

Maybe some one could check their TMCMSTW2/U2 folder and see if they are missing the same.

I have 71 .MSTs in the U1 folder, and only 27 in the U2. That makes 98...There are 110 catalog numbers listed in the EPC program itself.
I also checked the A1 & A2 .ISOs...same thing.
