I'd like to have one of those Magnolia hard sided RTT's but they are around $4000

Yeah, but think how cool your truck would look.

Did a real world mileage check on the white Freightliner on the round trip to MardiCrawl this weekend. Figured this would be the best I could ever expect bringing just one rig on the back, no trailer, and a little over 100 miles each way on the Natchez Trace. 55ish mph on the Trace (hard with the hills) and 65ish on Hwy82. Averaged 11.17mpg! Not bad for an 'ol Freightshaker... ;) I'll take it.

Heck, I still had nearly 3/4 of a tank when I got home. Some day I gotta figure out how much fuel this thing holds.

That is real good gas mileage, Bossman.

I was in the 8 mpg range traveling between 55 and 70 mph towing the zuk with the 80. I don't think 8 mpg is bad for a 400 hp motor, JT. hell i was getting 11 mpg in the duramax towing and never got better that 15 mpg. I still don't think a diesel is worth the added cost of fuel and maintenance for the amount that i tow in a year.

I figure it will drop 1 or maybe 2 mpg towing a second on a trailer. Will try to check that next.

I do agree, Lenny. Hard to justify the extra cost of a diesel with fuel upside down like it is.
