Anyone tow with a nissan Titan with a slide in camper before?

Thinking of eventually going with a Titan , slide in camper (with shower & toilet ideally ) in the bed and a 16-18 ft bumper pull.

Will be mostly towing zuk... Maybe the 80.

Not sure what bed size is needed and what bed options are available for the titan.

Titan are going for half the price of tundras for the same year model. Thats why they are on my radar. Reliable and ~300 hp..

The reason they are 1/2 price is because the reliability is about 1/2 .... honestly.

Also, the Triton motor may be rated that high, but it is weak. I would rather have an 1st gen Tundra with the 2UZ and deal with the lack of HP and gain the reliability.

Towing an 80 will be a stretch, but do-able. Zuk, no sweat.

I towed with a 100 a bit with the Bash Buggy and was pleased.

I've thought the same thing, Lenny, and came to pretty much the same conclusion as Nolen. There's a reason they are priced how they are, much like the last decade of Dodge Ram half-tons.

Wouldn't dare trade my tundra for a titan. no way no how. I fall in love with catfish more and more with each time I tow.
From this year's GSMTR.... 5 hours and got great mpg since I kept it at a reasonable speed...

OK boys, I need some help on this one...found the perfect tow rig, but I don't know s**t about big trucks. Any pointer? 400 cummins with fuller 9 spd and 2 spd rear. Guy has owned it two years and no maintenance records.....

I could run Dakar in it....

Looks awesome! I say roll the dice! ; )

How many miles? Pics on the interior .

Just cant plop down the funds for a 2nd gen tundra now. Trying to get back into the game quickly and cheaply. Friend of mine has a titan and loves it. It would be hard to pass up a good deal on a low mileage titan.

Good to know about towing with the 100, nolen.
I towed the zuk with the sequoia before and it did fine. Having a truck bed would be nice since i already have an SUV.
I would consider one as well. I really want a reliable tow rig

ref/freezer, sofa, bath up front....dance floor in the back. Less than a used diesel pu

My first impression is, for hwy driving, they're running too much downforce. I'd trim trim out that wing unless I was planning to run some tight roads....... :)

j/k of course. I don't know crap about big trucks either!

Will get better mileage pulling two rigs than my F150 pulling one. I just need a disco ball for the dance floor and some giant flame decals

I always thought this was a pretty cool setup.

RockWild Racing's Redneck Toter - Pirate4x4.Com

Ask Daryl about something like the vehicle you have in mind. He sold Clifford, but I'm not exactly sure why. I think he'd push for the slid-in on gooseneck approach.

Your F150 is a total turd for hauling... unless it's the EcoBoost...

Cummins all the way :D

Cummins 400 is a good motor and the Fuller 9 speed is bombproof. Bank on about 7-8 mpg in that rig though. Have you ever driven a big rig? Shifting one oft OSS rigs is a whole new game.

My freightliner was a medium duty rig with a Cummins 5.9 and Allison automatic and got 12.mpg loaded or empty. I sold to free up some cash and because I was making no progress to finish it. Wish I had it back now.

That is a bad ass rig! I bet you can get it right!

Ah... so the hot setup isn't slide-in camper on GN? Oh snap...

Both good for their own reasons. I think I'll like the 42'GN but think I may need to move up to a medium duty truck to pull it at some point.
