Aside from locks, when still attached to the truck. I know you already know, but always remember to back the trailer into a spot where it can't be cut off and taken unless the truck was moved.

I don't know if this would be an option but when I used to build pits in Houston I always made the tongue removable on the larger pits. Made it a bit more theft proof and I didn't have to keep walking around the darn thing when we were cooking. I used odd ball material like a reciever hitch system but with 3" x 1/4" wall square tube with a 2.5" x 1/4" sq tube insert welded into one end and double pinned to the other end. I figured any lock or chain can be cut but this way they were going to have to come up with some sort of attachment point to drag it off.

Bottom line, if they want it they are going to get it.....or get shot trying.

Yeah, that option wasn't available this time but the next best option was. The next best option sucks.

I was joking about not being able to go. No way I'd miss this trip.

I've got the injection pump, cam position sensor, 2 gaskets (intake air horn), and pump gear puller.

Just have not had time to work on the truck yet.

No way is charles going to miss this trip. His tow rig would have to burn to the ground. Even then i think he would drive his 40 out there ... Which would be awesome....to watch ; )

If you were closer i would give you some help...
Like handing you the phone with georg on the line .

: )

I saw a pit like that and liked it for all of those reasons. I've also thought about removing a wheel and installing a locked lug once removed if I had to park it in a s***ty park of town a.k.a. my house.

You're right Len. If my truck were to burn to the ground, I'd just buy another truck to replace it. Will not miss this trip. I'm looking forward to seeing Georg's female passenger.

Thanks for the offer to help. I think I've got it handled. Got plenty of tools and watched some videos on the internet on how to replace it.

I'm kind of glad the injection pump failed now instead on the road while towing. I have around 184K original miles on the original injection pump. The rebuilds are supposed to be MUCH more reliable than the original one. Lots of fixes over the original vp44.

Amen, brotha'! Blessing in disguise

Do you have a FASS system on that truck or are you still running the stock lift pump? I know the place I bought my VP44 from wouldn't just sell the Inj pump. You had to buy a lift pump as that is usually the culprit when the VP44 fails. I personally put the FASS DDRP pump on mine. Bolts in the stock location and provides a steady 15-16 psi.

I installed a FASS over a year ago. I'm getting 12 PSI of fuel pressure driving or wot.
Contacted FASS and they said my fuel pressure gauge might not accurate since it goes up to 30 PSI.

Installed FASS model:
HD D08 095G

I installed a gauge on the top of my fuel filter housing. There are 2 test ports there one before filtration and one after. I installed a 0-30 psi gauge after filtration. You could install 2 guages. One before and one after filtration to see the condition of your filter. Kinda like a differential pressure gauge. I got my gauge (liquid filled) from Summit for around $16 ea. Added a 45 degree brass elbow from the local Ace Hardware that the gauge screws into. Just an idea...

Nice job Bomar!

Thanks for the info. I have the fuel pressure gauge (electrical) mounted inside the truck. The sending unit is mounted directly on the FASS pump. I have my fuel going directly from FASS to the injection pump. Bypassed the factory fuel filter. I guess I could connect the fuel from FASS and have it go into the factory fuel filter housing and measure pressure there. I'm going to contact FASS about the low pressure reading.

They are and I have one but I hate installing it everytime I park it. I guess I'll just have to hate installing it everytime I park it.

As secure as five lug nuts could be... If thay want it they will get it.

No problem...

So are ya jealous of georg's new found love?

What brand shocks are you guys using?

I need front shocks for the diesel chevy 2500 sivlerado. May get rear shocks as well.

I havent bought a stock or stock replacement shock... ever. Usually all after market stuff for lifted vehicles.

So what have you guys had luck with .

Chris says the HD monroes are good.

I've had Bilsteins on my dodge for over 8 years. No issues with them. Much better than the pos factory shocks.

Not exactly my type, but still very fun to hang out with. Very easy going and has good sense of humor.
