I would not buy a tow strap used, you don't know how it was used (or abused).

Do NOT buy one with those cast hooks in the ends. You want one with reinforced double-sewn loops. I bought mine from Recoverygear.com, I have a 3" x 10' tree-saver, and a 3" x 30' strap.

Buying a used towstrap? Really? And looking on the web to find a place that sells used tow straps? Really?

Think about that some.

Mark...

That would be like buying used underwear. Ditto what's already been said.

For occasional use the wear reinforcement isn't needed. You'll just have to replace it sooner. No hooks as they are deadly. Get a couple shackles with your tow strap for attaching it.Screw pin style is what everybody says, but the farmers pin style will also work. Both pin types need to be wired when in use.

I don't worry about shackles forged in India. China on the other hand I wouldn't touch. I think the ones made in India are just as strong as the ones made here. They just look a bit rougher.
