This repo just got dropped at our auction off a flatbed. If they want to take it they will.

NLXtacy was close, there is a way (I had a few months in a 'family business' where I learned the trick) - bottom line is the thief who cases your stuff can pack light & get it, or a tow truck can just use brute force.
Alarms are only good if you have the linking kind that either pages the remote & you carry keys, or the upline to call your phone.
However, you then have to decide if you want to confront anything from a bear, a meth-head, or a armed, cold psycho.
I have had mine awhile & love it, but not worth a GSW (or death!!)

Is delinquent parking a habit you can't break?

Not so much, but campus police have a habit of being over-zealous with their tickets, boots and tow trucks. It's not hard to get a hefty fine around here.

I'm old - school was years ago (Ferris Beuller came out my HS Soph yr.)

Back in the day I was dating a girl at Northern Kentucky University. I received many parking tickets and never paid any of them. Apparently all they could threaten me with was not transferring my transcripts but since I didn't go there I didn't care

1. Air down.
2. Park in parking garage you barely fit in.
3. Use your onboard air to fill the tires back up and put the roof or rack against the ceiling.
4. Walk away.
5. ?
6. Usual step six involving some sort of beverage.

If they have to go through the effort to dolly any car or flat bed it's usually a bigger fee. So in the end your still the one that gets it in the end.

Worked a car lot when in college, went to auctions where rigs stolen/recovered had flat spots on rotors (both from dragging or dropping & cracking off) - no mercy once insurance writes it off & it goes to an auction. And tow trucks seemed to be only slightly better than repo guys.

Best solution, either get a motorcycle or "monkey in the trunk" (google - old).

If they bring out a flatbed, the winch will drag your truck up with no effort at all.

I used to be in law enforcement and saw my share of vehicles towed.

Do whatever you want to the diffs...the winch in the truck has no problem dragging your vehicle (along with your wheels skipping and screeching across the ground) as far as they need to.
