i put a tough country lift on my truck a year ago. now my shackles and spring are hitting my hitch where it connect to the frame. so i think that the springs have collapsed. any one else had this problem from tough country springs.

Only on hard flex, or while driving? Don't know about the Tough Country springs (I went with OME), but I have a set of 5.25" shackles I could let go for cheap - they'd give just over 1 inch lift and move the shackle angle just a tiny bit steeper

you can kinda see them in this pic - the holes are sized for the bigger bolt needed when using polyurethane bushings

i have finally figured out why my spring collapsed. they collapsed because i hauled wood in my trailer from my back yard to my drive way. i had about 1 1/2 cord of wood in the trailer at any given time i moved it to the house. but i am not pleased since the springs are supposed to be their heavydudy springs and they are under three years old.

I still think a OME or something would hold up much better. Those Tough country and the several others are of that rigid/hard steel.

and the bitch is i have posted on here about their ride, yea it will be rough when the shackle is laying flat on your frame. thatis where this would be if my reese hitch was not there. it only baffles me that it is only the passenger side spring that is that bad the drivers side is collapsed but not as bad.

so i ordered my 14mm shackle bolts tonight.

Decided against the shackles that I was gonna bring down? The holes are drilled to 18mm for these bushings or similar (11/16" or 3/4" bolts would be close) - no inner bushing sleeve is used, the bushing rides right on the bolt.

I'll be driving through on Monday a week from now - I could drop off the stubby overload leaves and shackles if you still want them . . .
