This week I became a part of the LC clan. I bought an European '88 LJ70 2LT. It doesn't have a lot of mods that I noticed besides snorkel, wheels, tires, and interior stuff (coil springs all around but maybe that's stock?). Now, I've never owned a Land Cruiser let alone a rig with lockers or a diesel(my YJ Wranglers, Tundras, and 4runner were mostly stock). That being said, I canNOT get over the fact that I can idle up an incline from a dead stop in 1st gear without touching the gas pedal! As you know, I've never had one of these before so I don't know if that is standard or not, but it rocks! She's been everywhere before me but I haven't taken her off road yet myself ( I have to rebuild the front axles apparently) but I can't wait! :bounce:

I would love to see pictures of your little rigs climbing big things. And if there are any other awesome tidbits about these trucks that a newbie needs to know? (head and camshaft have already been replaced)

Some of us have big rigs like troopies and the other one was my 73 series(sold) ,a bit longer than a 70 but shorter than the 75 series.
So they come in about 5 lengths, you have the baby of the bunch

Beautiful! Looks like fun! I'm glad to have the baby. These city streets of Spain are so narrow and parking spots so small I couldn't imagine anything bigger.
