Actually, since you are a 60 guy you can just pull a hub off your 60 and put it on the 80 to replace the driveplates. I ran my 91 with hubs (off my 83 BJ60) locked for fulltime and pulled the front driveshaft with the hubs unlocked for rwd for long trips. Because you have the old birfs no shims are necessary to run AISAN hubs.
 
No friggin way. It was the drive flange on the pass. side. I will order some AISIN lock outs tomorrow......So friggin sweet. I took it for a drive today, the coils are super nice compaired to leafs and it cruises nicely along the highway...I still can't believe thats all that was wrong with it. Why were they built so weak? seems odd. The idle is still high though, around 1200rpms. I will do a tune up and see how it changes...

Your guys sure know your 80's hopefully I will catch up sooner or later... :bounce:
