Too warm?

Is 193-195 too warm for regular around town driving? It is a '97 with stock rad, brand new thermostat, and it has the blue fan clutch. I just performed a drain and fill as well. Ambient temp is around 85 or so with the A/C on. My old '95 had a radiator barn unit in it and it used to sit around 186-188 on warm days with the A/C on and I am about to do a trip up and over 5000' just checking what others think.

Sounds normal to me. I read between 190 and 195 with 193 being the sweet spot. Mine will get hotter pulling long hills at highway speeds. New thermostat didn't change these numbers at all.

If you do some searching you will find this to be the case.

My '95 goes into what feels like a limp mode at 204 so I believe that is the too hot mark.

Pretty much the same exact conditions on my '97 last summer. Replaced t-stat and installed modified fan clutch and no difference. Ordered earlier style brass radiator and problem solved.
