Oh how soon we forget. :hhmm:
After a more extensive drive, I noticed a smell as I got out of the LC when I parked. Felt the LF wheel/hub and it was fairly warm and the RF was not...so...
did I mention it sucks to be me right now.:censor:
I'll try to find a replacement but I think Tues. will be the soonest I can get my hands on one.
Sadly, the kid won't be able to use the LC for his driving test.

Actually found a LH caliper in Eureka. Turned out to be a miss boxed RH in a LH box. Drat.

'As you can see in this picture'...the bleeder is on the rh upper side between the two shinny bolts and the correct threaded boss is just right of center on the side. Not so with the new caliper. It's "backwards"!
Even called several stores in Reading, Ca(150mi) and Medford, OR(200jmi) to no avail.
So, for an extra $35 over what I've paid for the miss boxed caliper, I'll get my refund in Eureka and I've ordered both sides from the MCK store which is where I live. Calipers due in Tues a.m.
Good deal and I guess I should do both as a pair so Murphy has less of a chance to enter into things.
Looking into hoses but they may have to wait.

I stock them if you continue to get pinched.

Thanks Dan. Hopefully this drama will end Tues afternoon.
I'll keep it in mind just in case.

Hoping you get it all buttoned up and good for McGrew. Would be nice to meet ya! :D

good luck!

Off at noon today. Picked up the ordered calipers. Miss boxed also but there was a LH and RH so all's good.
Bolted them up and I find the RH spews from the banjo bolt boss. I find a small nick in the exact spew spot.

Now I'm off to Eureka to warranty exchange for one of theirs.
Get this one home and it holds up. The kid isn't around. He's out gallivanting in the handbrakes car with his new in hand California drivers license. Instead I use my post op wife to pump the pedal. Not real happy but her seeing the bigger picture keeps my ass out of a total pinch.
So, tires on and a test drive and we'll see where we stand.
Onward...

p.s. in hindsight, I might have been able to file that boss flat but I didn't think of that until I was in Eureka.:o

 glad you got it dialed in. Chasing parts always sucks, esp under time constraints.

Post test drive analysis: Brakes just a tad mushy. Not bad. Pulls just a smidge to the right under hard braking and the right hub just a tad warmer than the left though both only warm.
I believe I've determined that my main problem, the noise up front of the engine, to be one or both of the idlers.
It's getting late and I have to get up at 5, so I'll pick this up tomorrow.
Looking good though. :D

Ah you stupid, stupid man.
The saga duth continue. Power bled the brakes last night. Good improvement.
Was going to add moly to the birfs but I can't yet get the plug out. Dang sure "ain't " going in the other way. I checked the front diff gear oil and it had molly in it. So...Have to work on it a bit more.
Like to swap the idlers and belts but time ran out. Holly tomato pie, sounds like I'm driving a pile of junk. :o
Off I go...

Made it through Mcgrew with no problems. Even used the AC.
Now comes the task of...well, all the other crap that needs to be done.
Get to it.
