Hey all, I haven't had much time to tinker with my 73 FJ-40,and during recent jobs, ive come across a free chevy 350 block, i was just going to sell it but a friend recommended it for a TLC swap. My question is this... how close knit is everyone to simple restoration of these awesome trucks, vs. how many people dont mind resto-mods like diff engines, TC's, trannies, etc. I know a lot of the Mustang guys on my board would have a fit if i dropped a H22, or 7MGTE into my 95 Vert... so is interbreeding ok or should i just opt for the original parts, etc.. the 1F I have runs... ive heard it.. no knocks etc, but it was drowned by the previous owner, so im sure water past rings etc, big mess. so should i get the sodding $700+ 1F rebuild kit or the other engine (not ness. 350 swap), I should mention that I do run a performance shop here in FL, and i have no problems fabricating any bracetry or anything so that part isnt the issue, I just dont want to make any enemies to those who are hardcore LC fans..
Thanks
