Good summary Nick.. I even jumped back on as our lonely delegate for the midwest group. Havent' been to a BOD meeting in years but willing to do my part. Thought someone's arm was gonna break pattin himself on the back last night at the ol BOD meetin.. You have our support.

Clue me in Mr Erik, on this back patting person, as I have been blessed with a full year away from the BOD.:)

Mark, your keeping sane by staying away from the BOD.. I'm referring to the "everything TLCA" leader we currently have.. It's been a long time since I've been on BOD Meeting and I can't say I missed them at all..

BOdean.. you'll do a fine job .. YOu'll get our vote as well.. Time to get the TLCA focused on being a car club again and not all political mumbo jumbo

Oh, him.

The smartest thing I heard Mr. Zepp say in the year I spent listening to him as prez was that running the TLCA was like trying to herd cats. While it may well have been an accurate statement, it ultimately said as much about him as it did the BOD at large.

I also have to say I am thoroughly under-impressed with the new vendor program that took up two FULL pages in the new TT. Told me virtually nothing new, and only seems likely to piss off certain vendors in the long run. I believe Mr. Ward designed that program.

:meh:

Mark-
It was designed with the intent of allowing newer, less experienced members get a feel for who offers what type of service and any extra stuff that they may offer. Yes, it may piss off some vendors. No, if you've been around for long it may not tell you much, but may also help with who to call if you happen to be someplace other that your particular stomping grounds.
If it pisses some vendors off, then so be it. If we don't try something to offer member benefits, then we lose more than we would have gained by trying to keep everybody happy. The reward outweighs the risk in that regard, in my opinion.
If we try and it fails, or is lackluster, or if nobody sees any value in it, then we can easily discontinue the program, and it costs us nothing.
However, if we don't try anything at all, the cost is beyond measure.
Now, if you are dissatisfied with the program, please pm, or call me, and let me know what you see as shortcomings, or what you see that can be improved about the program, and I will try to balance that against the overall goal of the program. I can't fix issues with my work, if you don't tell me what they are. I would love to hear what needs fixing, so that it can be tweaked, This is only the initial offering of the program, and is completely adaptable. Help me fix it, so the benefit is stronger for all!
And for the record, the program was worked out with a member of the club, and when we felt it was reasonably well put together, I brought it to the board. it is by no means solely my baby, but it is adaptable, and changeable to fit our needs as best as possible.

:bounce:Nick, Bodean...... really don't care which of you gets nominated:bounce2:

Both yawl I consider friends, both yawl know what needs to be done, both yawl could give a s*** less about politics & real thing about trying getting folks to participate:D

Good luck, keep the car club simple:clap:

Oh yea, publicly want to say more NEEDS to be done for IH8mud from TLCA.

WHY you ask..... he provides TLCA a place to discuss, vent, and openly organize TLCA trail rides...... now as always suggest a idea offer a resolve:idea:

Maybe a Full/Half/.25 page add in trails for FREE(every issue).....
If this is being done-GREAT! If not, as always..... just a suggestion.:meh:

Not nominated for the same position Clutchee so both are in the running. As for MUD / TLCA, I think it is safe to say that MUD doesn't need TLCA nearly as much as TLCA needs MUD! I think Woody knows how much we appreciate him but it would be nice to see the org show same openly and often!!! Thanks Woodrow!!!

Bingo Daryl!

Yep, I'm planning on supporting IH8MUD as soon as the votes are cast.
TLCA is going to be a simple car club. My only priority is keeping Toyota Trails.
Y'all have a Great Thanksgiving, Nick

I agree with this!! Some don't really enjoy the mag but I do. More tech articles and more pics and articles about trail rides and events. The mag and the event insurance seem to ME to be the only tangible benefits of membership.
