But only fair competition can bring true results!

And we did it. Two worthy rivals. Two turbo monsters with portals. Land Rover and Land Cruiser.

Northern-Western Mongolia are highlands, 1500-2500 meters and higher
So weather is changes every hour
And it's WINDY. Look at these trees. They grow at an angle :)
And it’s interesting that days can be absolutely calm. Wind starts at night.. We used to sleep in a tent. But after a few sleepless night it became clear that a more reliable shelter was needed

That is awesome! That rear bed is exactly what I was looking at doing in my 77! Minus the heater :) Thank you for sharing!

Rear bed/storage system is a special topic of conversation :) One by one it's became a business now :) There are a huge trerritories in Russia with no motels at all :) I made about 6 hundreds of such sysyems now, for all Toyota and others. Even Toyota Arctic Trucks Russia use it now ;)

Air heater is perfect thing! In summer we use it twice a night - before sleep and after wake up. At winter it works all night long :)

You are the Arctic sleep specialist! Your sleeping arrangement is easy like a Roof tent, but better aerodynamics  . For the bed frames you have made for other vehicles, do you use the same style as what you have in your 77, just different dimensions? Or a new style for each vehicle?

In generel style is the same for most of models. I's fast removable frame with telescope part and folding pillars.

I think it should be a separate big topic about it :)
A few info i put in instagram Artem Lapocruiser (@lapocruiser) • Instagram photos and videos But I do not like this fast form... :)

That looks awesome! Beautiful work! I can see why you have made many for others!! I'm sure a whole separate thread here on them will get MANY visitors HA.

Tomorrow we may speak about winter driving in Siberia, if you like... :)

That looks like fun ! :) But also lots of work with a shovel Ha. You have some great pictures! Especially for those of us who have never been to that part of the world!

One interesting thing I have seen is a lot of newer BXD10 Mega cruisers for sale in eastern Russia, When I show my friends in japan, they can't believe someone in Russia has one HA.

Haha! My friend has one ot it! There are 2 or 3 BXD10 only in Novosibirsk!
Perfect Toyota, very interesting vehicle. Portals, IFS, 4WS... brakes on axles... everything is extraordinary!
Very cool!!! Here at work, If I show my co workers they act nervous because Japan says its illegal for anyone to own them or for them to leave Japan! Of course, Japan government doesn't care about your vehicles in Russia so its no problem once they are out HA.

But I'm sure you Lapocruiser fit on trails much easier than his BXD10 ;)

By the way, is there any meaning to "Lapo" for your "Lapocruiser"?

Yes, they are right! They can not leave Japan as Toyota BXD10. Moreover, they can not enter Russia because of Euro-4 or something like this....
BUT! We should not give up!

These vehicles taking apart and leaving Japan as a spare parts kits ;) And then in Russia they are assembled again and registered as self-made vehicles. No more Toyotas! Now they are "Expedit vehicle" without frame numbers and civil license plate :) But anyway it's still MEGAcruiser! ))

"Lapo-" is made from Volvo Laplander axles. We call it "Laps" here, that's why LandCruiser became LapoCruiser :)
Also in russian word "lapa" means "animal's paw" :)
