I did search but... I just bought a 2006 LX470, all stock with 18" stock rims. I want to put BFG TA KO2s on it. What is my max size with AHC and all other stock features still working?

The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 and KO3 are both designed for off-road use, but they have some key differences. The KO2 features a shallower tread pattern of 12mm (15/32″), making it suitable for diverse terrains while maintaining decent on-road manners. On the other hand, the KO3 boasts a deeper 14mm (18/32″) and more aggressive tread pattern, allowing it to excel in difficult off-road situations but at the cost of some on-road comfort.

The KO3 also benefits from larger water channels that extend farther across the tread pattern than the KO2, which helps with water evacuation from beneath the tire. Additionally, the KO3 has more interlocking full-depth sipes, which can contribute to its handling in snowy conditions and grip on rocks.

In terms of durability, the KO2 is known for its 3-ply polyester sidewalls, which provide robustness and confidence off-road. The KO3, on the other hand, has a more aggressive tread pattern and deeper tread depth, which may make it more prone to wear and tear.

Fwiw, the only tires I've ever seen slashed on trails were KO2s. I've seen 4-5 of them get eaten. Probably something to be said about them likely being the most common AT around, but I've never had a set of my own (non KO2) fail the same way.

That said, I'd put a set on a truck I don't wheel in a heartbeat. But if you don't wheel it, go for Defenders.
