I'd go for the Toyos... and I did. Twice.

BFGs I have not had much success with once they get a little use on them. They are not as tough as the Toyos, and are noisier to boot.

Talk to the boys around the corner from your house again... and make sure you're talking to Tim or Justin, not the interference at the front desk.

Which Toyos? Can you get them at RADD?

How much do they cost?

Ryan...
Are you interested in the Wrangler MTR Kevlars?

I don't really sell tires, there's a million tire shops around and they all pretty much carry the same stuff.

I have the M55s and the MTs in 255 85 R16 - for logging road travel and moderate off-roading. Tough as nails these tires, and long lasting as well.

For more serious off-roading, bigger/wider is probably in order.

So just for s***s n giggles I called nanaimo toyota about the factory 16" rims that folks have been saying they're getting for between 80 and 100 a pop.

part # 42601-60262-03

and wait for it... $166.70  had they been about 100 I might have gone for it, but not 166.

of course toyota's awesome friendly policy as well, prepay, and no returns...

apparently 3 in van, and about 25 in cali . Was mostly curiosity ,I hate giving those a-holes any money.

Still have a line on some 16's in van , but waiting to hear from the guy.

I do have a couple spare 32's, so I may just get the pooched one swapped out so I can at least drive, just sick of dealing with crappy old s***...

WTF...that's about what I paid for my four white spokes... New.:D

I can safely say I won't be spending $700 on a set of rims.

yeah option A is always fxxx the customer as much as possible. wouldn't buy a cotter pin from them if there was another option.

icbc are just shysters as well.

looks like I'm goin to van on sat to get some 16's...

likely taking the bigass ford if anyone needs a junk delivery...:grinpimp:

right before xmas my dad got a quote for 80.
When he went to pay the price doubled but the guy remembered him and held his word.
Prince George toyota is the only toyota dealer in canada I would deal with because everyone else is just retarted on the phone.

yep. that's what I object to. The initial attempt to gouge at every opportunity.

it's like they look at the price in the book, and make up a number to see what the guy calling will go for.
maybe they get a bonus for how much over the book price they get people to pay.

I just have no interest in dealing with that attitude.

anyway, for the tire thing, I've given up on 33x10.5's, and found some 16" rims, so now it's 255's I'm after...actually a few more choices to look at.

so far it's M55's , bfg muds and cooper st's in the running.

My brain is telling me to get the m55's cuz I never wheel anyways, and they're awesome, but....

If your not going to wheel then get the BFG's but be aware you could still tear a sidewall in a parking lot somewhere.

hmmm, I think I detect a note of dissatisfaction with the bfg product....

apparently the 16"version of the bfg is 10ply, so in theory it should be better than the 15" ones.. maybe not by much tho.

I've put probably 100k on the same set of bfg muds, only issues I had were that they kinda got hard and stopped wearing, and became frightening in snow or ice.

Cooper st is probably in the same boat for weak sidewalls, fewer plys..but all plys are not made equal...

I've read quite a lot of crappy reviews for the toyo mt, loud , don't last long, and $$$ ( plus a couple more $$'s )

Well I've never owned them but have seen enough with sticks through the side wall (Rigpig on Mt Sicker was the last) to leave a bad taste in my mouth. They might be better now.

My old man runs Toyo M55's on his Dodge diesel. He had one set "re treaded" three times before the cases were finally shot. Sounds like a good tire to me. Just my .02

yeah, don't think I've ever found someone with a bad review of them.

My only hesitation is that if I do in fact get back into wheeling more than once every 3 years, they're not the most agressive out there.

but then, really , how likely is that,I've got a boat I'm trying to build......

the bfg's, m55's and cooper st are pretty much all the same price from cedar, 250 and change per corner.

I'm going to procrastinate until I receive a sign....:lol::lol:

Don't worry, just like the rest you'll probably sell this one soon after completion anyway...

wow still cant believe that its 250 per corner... i paid 260 for my swampers and thats with everything in... and they paid the shipping to me... $137 on the grey hound..
but i think they went out of business... it was south cariboo offroad
