Hey guys so just an update on my install for my 2004. I replaced the single din tape deck with a single din aftermarket. Key details:

Disconnected tape/radio unit completely and taped in 68 ohm resistor. A/c function still works

Used a jvc kid-x33mbs headunit. 13 band eq and three sets of 4v preouts and only 4.5 inches deep. That's a tight factory space

Factory amps still on but no signal to pull amps from alt

Installed aftermarket amp in cd changer bracket, close proximity to doors and hu.

Anyways I'm pumped and wanted to share the details with anyone considering it

What's the 68Ohm Resistor Tap into? Pics?

Are you asking a question?
personally I put an amp under the passenger seat and an amp behind the plastic trim in the rear pass side next to the rear AC unit.
PIC of your resistor placed in line on the plug would be awesome. OR, link to exact resistor you're using. Thanks!

I used a kenwood shallow depth. but in a different spot than you.

did you just bridge the tx- & + from the r38C plug, pins #9 & 10 with the resistor?

Correct. I only wanted to tell the forum so you can save time and space extending the wires to try and relocate that factory din. Also the location of the amp where the six disc went is nice because there's Direct wire flow from amp to speakers, amp to battery and amp to headunit.

do you have link to the resistor you used? I'd like to get the same one you're using.

RadioShack 68
Ohm resistor, you can buy em individually or in a big pack

sorry to bug you man, thanks. I assume .5 watt?
last question I promise

Yah
