Well I "fixed" my carb problem. I had a webber I didnt really want to put on the 40, but for the heck of it I tossed it on. Seems to run ok around town now. I took it for a 60 mile run up I- 505 and back. It did ok up, but coming back I got slower and slower. The temp went up about 5 -10 deg(digital gauge). I got it to the garage, went to back it in, and it quit. Tried to restart it, and it was backfiring. I didnt feel like dealing, so I came inside for a bit. Couple hours later it restarts fine. Is there something that can fail that can throw the timing out when its hot??? I'm lost.

ok, stupid question. What is vapor lock? To my understanding it was when the gas got hot enough on the suction side of the fuel pump that it would flash to vapor instead of being pumped. Thereby not supplying any gas to the engine?
