How do I release the tension off the belt.
My guess is the idler in the center of the first pic is the one that has the tension but I cant get it to shift to loosen up on the belt.
I tried prying the spring bracket but there did not seem to be any movement.
This is a 89 v6 and all the youtube videos show a plunger on the left of the idler but this one is not that kind.

Loosen the fastener in the middle of the pulley and slide the pulley to the left.

I originally did that and the pulley did not shift so I just backed off the bolt on the spring retainer on the right of the spring and the spring slackened enough to remove the tensioner pulley.
Currently I have her all stripped down fingers crossed the re-assembly and timing is bang on.
