Anybody else running Thrush mufflers on their pigs? I was thinking about going this way soon since I got nothing at present. If not, did you just get something at your local muffler shop? Thanks, Dave

Edit....I should add that I'm not looking for a throaty sound just something cheap. My old Ford P/U has one but then my gas tank is behind the seat and I am not exhausted all the way to the end of the truck. Flowmaster seems like a name a lot like some dislike (are they pricey? cause I don't want a brand name).

I went to meineke and asked them to put on the quietest muffler they could (wife's request). The thing was huge, but they tucked it up under the pig's belly nicely. It did make it quite a bit quieter. I don't know what brand the muffler was, just says "heavy duty" on the receipt. $82 muffler. Labor was more than $82.

I once had a Flowmaster on a 4Runner. Way too loud for my taste.

Thanks Super T.....I haven't had a muffler installed in years so I had no idea what one costs these days. Dave

stuck in the biggest cheapest generic one I could find at the local "Dave's muffler service", no idea what brand but it is very quite now and when idling is like an old fashioned sewing machine ticking over :princess: is :D

I've never had a muffler on the '55!!! That's right, just straight through with 2 1/2" pipe and a few bends. Sounds a little like a Harley! The turbo on the diesel acts as a muffler. I have not had one on the BJ60 since installing the turbo either and I've NEVER been called on it even at smog check time!

Howdy! I am using generic turbos. The largest I could fit between the frame and the rocker panel. They exit infront of the rear tires. They are deep and throaty sounding, but not really that loud. They are about as loud as my tires, but I can carry on a normal conversation in the cab with the windows up or down. I may have been born in the 40's, but I still like to hear my horses workin!!! Got it cranked today but I was surprised that it wasn't that loud without mufflers......or the fact that I may be deaf already? Enjoying everyone's choices of mufflers--Dave
