Im a bit confused by this " housing " on the TO bearing and how to get it off or did I get the wrong clutch kit....

It seems like the bearing is inside this housing. I watched video where he put in just the bearing without this housing...

So according to marlin website it says "This clutch release bearing fits all 1996-04 4cylinder Tacomas and 4Runners, as well as 1995-97 4cylinder T100s."
My rig is an 88 4Runner , did someone update my tranny or just the TO bearing?

I have run into this on my 85. The greasy old one is a one-piece unit that is a direct replacement. The new bearing you have needs to be pressed onto a machined piece that has the tabs on it for the clutch fork to clip onto. So basically you need another piece.
