The thing to remember with all vehicles is that they are built to a tolerance.
IE the rear cross mill should measure X + or - .05 mils.
this goes for every body and suspension mount point on the vehicle. Hell just last week I looked at a lx470 that took a straight on rear end shot.
the right side frame rail was shifted left to the outside of tolerance and the rt side rail was dead square. This truck had 800 miles on it.

Done. Fixed. Bottom line: it's a surprising amount of grinding.

Loosen them? I took the whole thing off. In record time!

Yeah, ground down both the front and back sections of the crossmember where they go under the cat.
