When one of us win the Lottery they can buy and donate to the club one such place.Be alot of money for just the property let alone all the cat and hoe work to make such obsticals.

There was also talk of a private group doing one in the Okanogan and also some chit chat on BC4x4 to see if there was enough interest to do one in the Lower Mainland (Surrey I think). Personally, I think they are a good idea if run right. I think the market is there from idividuals, clubs and companies - especially if they were to offer 4x4 training.

As a business I could see there being money to be made.Exspecially if done local.Over head would be huge.To make it work it would have to be local exspeicially with the four wheelin the can be had for free not to far out of town.So property cost would be huge(need 5-10 acres).Building and maintaining such a park would be costly. And then there's insurance. If the place became popular one or a group could pull in a pretty good income.$50-$80 for a day of some good wheelin(locally)would not be bad to pay.You could have group rates and classes.Food sales could bring in a good chunck of change.shop sevices on site. You could even do souviers for sale. The possibilities are endless. The great potental is there. It just comes down to startup.

In my opinion, it all comes down to dollars. How do you come up with a million? dollars for such a venture. It would have to be done in shares, like 1000 shares at 1000 dollars each or 100 shares at 10,000 each......

Then, you'd have ongoing maintenance/construction. Then, there is insurance.....

Yes -- that last one would be the real how-stopper. Even if people signed a waiver not to sue the land owner - lawyers would figure out a way around it.

There has to be a way around the insurance for a place like that, look at other sports, rock climbing (indoor and outdoor), sky diving, even little go-cart racing has wavers that clearly state "you are doing this at your own risk, we provide you with the necessary gear for safety but if you are a dumb-ass or an accident happens you're on your own" in nice legal terms. The place does not need to be located that close to the lower mainland, just like in Australia you can have camping on site, so it can be 4-5 hours drive, land around Merritt area is still reasonable and the terrain is interesting. he amount of revenue something like this would generate if ran right would be huge, have a parts store on site, a town truck a mechanic shop, a food store with some camping essentials, maybe even alcohol, a restaurant, I figure if it's a bit further away from the city it's better. Show up, pay $50 a day to run the trails, another $20 to stay the night, with "frequent visitor discounts", why not? Now all we need are some sponsors or investors. With the right approach and business plan might even be able to get Crown land in an area that they don't care too much about for a good dollar (likely not but you never know). It would have to be a large effort where a lot of 4WD clubs would get involved or some good investors.
