I recently bought an 86 4runner that is lifted 3 inches and has 4.88s and detroits front and rear. This is a pretty nice runner other than it has IFS. Can I take the third member out of the front and put it in a solid axle when I do the swap? I am also thinking of taking the locker out of the front so it won't be too bad on the slick roads the next few months. Can I do this without removing the third member? And does anyone have some spider gears...

If you just lock one front hub it will be a little better in the slick stuff.
I'd post up a want add in the wanted section for an IFS front diff. There are enough people doing SAS's that you can probably find an open front for cheap. Probably not with 4.88s already, but you never know.
