thinking of parting out my running FJ60

I also would hate to see/hear of a running 60 taken off the road. If you do decide to part it out I am interested in front bumper end caps. (I sent you an email)

regards,
tim

reply to ?'s

For you Des Moines/Ft Dodge guys, I'm in Dubuque

The interior is blue.

Cruisergreg - the driver side front fender is in great shape, not dents and a small small spot of surface rust nothing to worry about.

Tradarcher - the upper tailgate is in good shape, I guess probably pretty good shape compared to most. The rear qtrs are qestionable, send me an email and I'll take some pictures and you can see for yourself. Same goes for the inner fender walls and dog legs.

Rookie - the dash is fine, but the dash looks like someone may have broken into it at one time and roughed up the dash to steal the stereo, so part above the stereo opening is rough.

starter and alternator are good to go.

DOC - I think the lincence plate bezel is in good shape.

Let me know who wants pictures of the different items and an email address and i'll work on getting pictures to you. Just to let you know I'm taking a little vaca starting tomorrow so I won't get to taking the pics until mid next week. I plan on shutting myself off from the real world for most of that time, sory but I gotta. :D

What is happening to the truck? Are u scrapping it???

If so, do U have a side grinder or cutting torch? Would u be willing to cut off the lower portions of the rear quater panels, the rear door sill/wheel well dogleg and the rocker panels (if they are usable, of course)

If ure not willing/able to do that i could drive to Iowa and do it, as long as youre willing to let me cut, and it s worth my while.

It runs fine but needs some work, not sure what it needs, most days it runs good, in fact lately it hasn't been a problem at all, it's runnning really good. It probably just needs the carb adjusted, i rebuilt it and it works good but an adjustment might do the trick. It doesn't ildethe smae all the time and it will stall when you stop at intersections sometimes if you don't give it a couple revs as you are slowing to a stop.

It probably just has an intake manifold or other vacuum leak. Track it down and fix it--no biggie. I understand being "done" with a vehicle and wanting to move on, but if you part it you are going to be spending a lot of time still working on it. Why not spend a little time to fix it and sell it for good cash?

This is a very good point also.

Pics? Price?

Guys,

I regret to inform you that I will NOT be parting out my FJ60.
I am and will be too busy to work on it until late summer, no illness or anything like that, well work is keeping there for 12+ hrs a day, I guess that could be considered an illness.
But htat is what i'm up against.
I am just too tired when I get home and it's pretty late to get excited about demolision.
I would be interested in selling the machine as a whole if you know anyone that is interested.

Again, sorry for getting your hopes up.

Dan
