Thinking of building a crawler 83 Diesel

This came with 2wd and the L motor. Seems pretty peppy with even an injector out.
129K 2 owner.

Any tips or concerns transplanting a 82 front axle and which transfer case I might be able to find.

I thought about doing that for a while. All the L's I've ever driven are not what I would call "peppy".

Ha yea that is my truck!!I wouldn't call it "peppy" either.Stock gears in the axles it wont pull its self in 2wd up any grade.I run it offroad only and use the dual case always,5th gear about 35mph.But with the 4.70 low range it will still haul a load of firewood.Just very slow.Maybe 5.29 gears in the axles would help it in 2wd but for I use it for it works fine.

Thanks... I think Ill use it for the ranch and parts hauler. I have a Zuki with 22r to work on and jens scout. Thanks again for helping me choose.
