Thermostat housing has gasket on this end?

Hi Guys,
Is there a gasket where the seam is on the end of the thermostat housing? It’s oozing coolant there. Or do I need a new housing?

Hi, all.
I recently got my mechanic to replace the alternator on my 1998 100 series 2UZ FE.
He said I would soon need a gasket for my thermostat housing. Please see pic.
After reading some threads, I don’t know if it is a gasket or sealant that is needed where the red arrow points to.
Any help would be great!
