Umm.

Doors off. Both Hindges are off on the driver side.

The passenger side inside top hindge.

The Glove box is welded in, and I couldn't get my hands up in there to undo it.

Any tips on some apperatus that would work. I've tried with a bunch of different extension's ujoints, Does't seem like a socket would work. Correction Know it won't. not enough clearence behind bolt and wall...

Umm. Gas tank drained,

next step will be to start pulling off things that need to be removed to get the tub off...

Still looking for the orginal owners manuels. and any other papers that it might have come with. I posted a wanted ad a while back, but havn't gotten a resonce.

Thanks
Cody

I have a few manuals and wiring diagrams that'll be helpful to you I'll be uploading on the website the next few days they're to big to email. Never took the glove box out of any of mine but when I took the door hinges off the tub of the 78 I said I'd never do it again my hands aren't meant to get in those spaces :( I can burn you a DVD with them as if you need.

Yeah, I fought with the drivers side, for a while. and I quit on the Passenger side. Yeah, to get the govebox out, you'd have to unweld it.
A DVD would be cool. We'd eventually like to get a hard prestine copy also, so we can have somebody open the glovebox and everything that orginially was in there, be in there.. :D

Thanks
Cody

Larry, Is there a piece that goes imbetween the exaste manafold, and the pipe.

Dad tried to put it on before I got to the camp this weekend, and said that if he put it on, it would hit the ground, so their needs to be some sort of angle piece missing, Hope that made since...

Thanks
Cody

No was planning to take it to the exhaust shop across the Street to have it modified to fit. It had an old leaky header on it and did away with it for the new manifold like it originally had. Should have the gasket and flange in the box of stuff to go with it :)

didn`t I see an exhaust flange & pipe in the post about the trailer think was the one Robert caught ya sleeping on the job:D

Wrong vehicle that was from the 60...

it is a bad exhaust on the 60, plus their wasn't anthing that made it go into the frame instead of ground...

Thanks

Hello everyone
I (Cody's Dad) am new to this forum thing, so if I do a no no, I am always open for any advice.
It's nice to see the history of the "Turtle", and I want to thank Cody for finding it,
and also thank Volunteer (who i just learned is Larry) for letting Cody and I become a part of the Turtle's evolving history.
Couple of things i picked up reading the various post.
Cody is thinking that he won't get to drive the Turtle much, in fact he has drove it more than I have to date.
I hope he is incorrect when he say's 3 and a half years to do the project, I am thinking more in the time frame of one year (could be wrong) you see Cody just purchased he first vehicle, a FJ60 he plans to make into a camping trailer.
I am excited about doing this project.
When we picked it up, yes I was smiling from ear to ear.
I was surprised at the parts that came with it. Kind of like buying a kit with all the pieces (well almost all) not much left to purchase, mostly just elbow grease to be applied.
We have taken lots of pictures and plan on continue documenting the project.
Later
