Where would you gents recommend eating breakfast in the Belhaven College neighborhood? A local greasy spoon joint is fine. Looking for a hearty trucker's breakfast, Southern style.

It's only 4.5 miles/10 minutes from Belhaven. FWIW, Jackson Free Press says it's the best "sit down" breakfast in Jackson. That should work, unless someone has a better idea.

Downtown has some solid choices as well. The Lamar and The Elite both have options that will stick to your ribs.

We're doing a Cruiser swap at GT's house early morning so I doubt we'll venture downtown. Looks like Mimi's is only 2 miles north. Appreciate the recommendations.

After we figure out a time, any of you folks who happen to be in town Saturday morning are welcome to join us for breakfast. I'll post details here.

Are you talking about the old Brent's drugstore? I used to go there for shakes when I was a kid. Didn't know it was still there, or that they served breakfast.

We will be needing x2 breakfasts, so we could always hit Mimi's and Brent's. You can never eat too much bacon.

Yep. They started serving breakfast a few months ago. It's good. Biscuits, bacon, eggs, & stuff.

Mimi's to be has great flavors with girl portions.

I have only been 2x and was full when I left, but that would be my only negative comment on it.

Downtown is actually a half mile closer to GT's house. I would rather go to Brent's though as it's owned by a buddy of mine from MSU. I always try to patronize my peeps.

Grogan's comment about Mimi's serving girl portions causes me some concern.

Brent's would be a nostalgia thing. It was opened in the late 40's by an Ole Miss classmate of my Uncle. He used to give us free shakes when I was a kid. I've got relatives who went to State as well, so it's still all in the family.
