Not sure if buying a big black SUV was the brightest thing to do, just washed it yesterday, looks dirty as hell again today.

Yup black looks good for the 20 minutes a month its clean, especially here in the desert. Just get some trail rash on it and you won't care so much ;)

Welcome to the club. I've got a black on black W126 560- it never leaves the garage and still turns yellow after a few days in pollen season.

The truck looks damn good, though.
Im anal retentive about my trucks exterior cleanliness even though i own a thundercloud metallic one. Wax helps alot. If your too time pressed for a good wax then i suggest the new hybrid ceramic wax spray bottle from wallyworld. It goes on and rinses off after you wash your truck. Once your paint is clean and hydrophobic its easy to wipe down with a microfiber cloth and rainx waterless wash. I wipe the pollen once a day. Wash my microfiber on the weekend. I havnt washed my truck in a month and its still easily the cleanest car in any parking lot.

I'm a little different for the LX over my other cars. It gets used, there's mud in places it won't be cleaned from, the paint gets pin-striped, the dog goes in the back seat, etc. I did a 3-step correction when I first bought it and sealed it up with a chemical sealant and acrylic glaze. Truck gets a weekly wash and spray wax to supplement the longer term sealant but, I can't be as anal about it compared to the others. Just not realistic for how I use it.

I love getting it dirty, but the second i get home my cleaning impulse takes over. I think its a learned behavior i got from my dad. What can i say. Its my favorite toy
Edit: including pic in work parking lot because its a pics thread

I'll get some pinstripes on it this weekend when i take it to the local trail, this time of year should be crawling with rhododendron. Then people will look at it and know i take it off road and not just take kids to soccer practice. lol, mark of a warrior

Warriors are not phased by what people think :slap:

;)

It'll add some credibility for the truck for sure!

Where are you wheeling near DC?

Couple hours away in WV, there's this trail with lots of water crossing and pretty easy to do, only bad thing is wild plants grow everywhere and scratch you all up. I took my LC there

^^^ Very nice shot of the milkyway, care to share what camera, lens and settings you were using?

I’m guessing it’s a composite.

Shot on my Nikon D750 at 24mm, F/3.5, ISO 5000, 30 second exposure. Single shot ;) I used a flashlight to light the foreground.

Here’s a view from camp in the opposite direction.

Nice i've also got a D750 with a 24-70mm and a 14-24mm lens, can't wait to use them in Moab for some milkyway shots. That's a lovely camp spot man, gorgeous.
