Maiden voyage with new CVT Mt. Rainier tent on stock rack. AHC in low makes for the perfect height for the annex. And helps me get at the tent to deploy. Loving this new setup.

Removed "wood" trim

Finally got around to removing the "wood" trim in my '03.

Waited until it got a bit warm in the car (not quite as warm as the temps in the "before" shot below taken on the way to Phoenix earlier this year), then had at it with a trim tool and fingernails. Used a heat gun on a few stubborn pieces, then cleaned up with soap and water.

That looks great. Did you replace the wood trim or just remove it and exposed what was below?

Thanks, FJCowboy. I just removed the trim and exposed the surfaces underneath. Everything was in good shape, well-preserved. The interior looks much better (IMHO) probably more like what Toyota intended before someone "added value" by applying the wood-like trim.

I might have to consider this mod. My wood trim has seen better days. Thanks

if it is in good shape, i really like the wood trim. Why do so many people dislike it?

I like the trim, mine is starting to peel off and fade. I thought it might be a good look until if/when I got replacement trim.
