Lol. Now that you put it that way, I will pass. I'm not sure how the FAA feels about organ theft victims flying. There might be a two year waiting period or something.

Cruiser making noise while turning

I need help identifying a problem. I am getting a noise in the front end of my Cruiser when I turn sharp, and sometimes not so sharp. I took it into the hanger tonight and turned. Not in 4wd, turning makes the Cruiser almost hop and makes a loud noise. At first I thought it was the tires rubbing, because they are the 35x12.5. but, it happens when i'm not turning sharp enough to make them rub. Any Ideas? I was wondering if it had to do with the birfields.

Pull off the aisin hubs and see if it does it.
I actually need to to do the same. I fear my passenger hub is on it's way out... It does the exact same thing you describe, and last weekend at Stony it would sometimes not pull under load. These things sometimes need rebuilding. I hates hubs after not having them for so long.

I'm not doubting you, but what does the hub do that would cause it to make that noise? Also can I just reuse the gaskets and O-rings since they are new?

Because you said it hops.

What kinda noise? whir? clank? clink? metal? thud? grinding? Pop?

There's gears in there that can get caught when bound up. That'll grab the tire causing a bounce type of feel. Plus pulling the hubs off is an easier test than anything else.
If you're in 2wd... the birfs shouldn't even be turning...

That makes sense. I forgot the birfs weren't turning with the hubs unlocked. I'm not sure how to describe the sound other than it sounded like the tires were rubbing badly on the inner fender but the wheel wasn't turned enough to make it rub.

Ok if you have kids then you will understand why I have always wanted to try this out. I made one yesterday with a few things from Lowes plumbing dept. Now just waiting on the sub zero temps to crank this thing up!

Has anyone else on here made one and what were the results?

Never seen one, but I think I've just found a project for this evening... Time to head to Lowe's.

I am gonna try and build one tonight. Sent from my iPhone using magic

Cool until I saw the light dusting it produced after running for half an hour :(

Likely sent from the bathroom stall using IH8MUD

Yep my setup did the same thing. Very disappointing and aggravating to keep it running steady.
