Noah, just be VERY careful with this. When we did the '55 resto we had a good dash pad that cracked shortly after the reinstall. I'd research to ensure that everything to protect the vinyl is done.

well, not sure there is more I can do at this time, I lubed it up alot with some good UV protectant oil and that seemed to work well, I must of applied it 8 or more times and rubbed it in, I then wrapped it up in towels today and parked it in a box out of the way until I install it. When I do get it installed I plan to have towels in the car that I can lay on the dash to keep the sun off of it (white towels), I am thinking that should reflect alot of heat/sun away from the dash when it is parked.

I think the dash pad is gonna be the most valuable thing in the pig and the thing least likely to be stolen. :D

On having a "mold" made by a vacuum form. There has to be an industrial plastics distributor in you area somewhere. Give them a call ask if they do vacuum forming, and then give average dimensions if they do vacuum forming. All it would cost is a phone call or 2 to a shop like that. Could also give a call to T-fab (Trent Fab) and see where they get their plastic hoods molded. Just a couple thoughts.
